Creative Writing Challenge - Bob Bilby

Based on the Bluey episode 'Bob Bilby', write a diary from the perspective of Bob Bilby about all the adventures he's had with Bingo's classmates over the last few weekends. Maybe you could write about how he saw an Australian rules football match on TV with Jasper W, or you could write about Bentley taking him for a fun day out to the beach for ice cream and sandcastles, or maybe Sadie taught Bob Bilby how to ballet dance. Anything you want, make it from Bob Bilby's diary!

At-Home Writing Challenge - Your First Time Seeing Tracy Beaker

Write about the first time you saw Tracy Beaker or Tracy Beaker Returns on CBBC, to help get you excited for My Mum Tracy Beaker coming to the channel this Friday. Maybe you could write either a real memory, or you can retell the very first time you saw Tracy Beaker as if she and the other kids and carers in the Dumping Ground are real people, and Arthur is her best friend. Having read the book, you haven't known that there was a TV series. Maybe you want to write about the time you saw the premiere, and were blown away when Tracy yelled and there was an animated sequence to accompany it of the Dumping Ground blowing to smithereens because of her! Whatever you want, make your first time seeing Tracy Beaker your way.

At Home Writing Challenge - Charades


Write the Bluey episode 'Charades' from the point of view of either Bluey, Bingo, Muffin, Socks or Nana. What did they like about going to Nana's? Did they like the ice blocks, the charades game or Muffin doing ballet? As Bluey or Bingo, can you write a letter to Muffin asking her what to do to control her tantrums? Kids can be such a handful!

At Home Writing Challenge - The Best Books For Little Kids - Change It!

Changing stories the Sybil way can be excellent fun, especially when it comes to childrens' books like these. Now you can change them, Sybil style!
  • Write your own version of The Belly Button Book themed around I.B.F.Fs, as I try to examine the bellybuttons of everyone at my school, including Bluey's own. This may sound gross, but it's worth a try.
  • Write a Me, You, And...version of Walking Through The Jungle, about Furaha exploring a rainforest in Africa. You can also write an I.B.F.Fs version featuring Luke, Resus and Cleo and I exploring the rainforest where the lions live.
  • Write a Me, You, And...version of We're Going On A Bear Hunt, featuring Alkaharif and Alarramal, Furaha's older brother and sister, leading the cubs on a quest to find the treasure that has been stolen by the wise bear.
  • Write an I.B.F.Fs version of The Bear Snores On, about Nothing having a Winter sleep and me and my siblings and friends trying to wake her.
  • Write a version of Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See themed around Baloo from The Jungle Book.
  • Write an I.B.F.Fs version of One Of Each about Dog, Pug and Love Monster attempting to share.
  • Write a version of Big Red Barn starring Sesame Street characters.
  • Luke, Resus and Cleo have their own versions of Good Night Moon. Write down what their versions of the story may sound like.
  • Write a version of Moo Baa La La La featuring CBBC and CBeebies characters and the noises they make.

  • Write a Me, You, And...version of If You Give A Mouse A Cookie describing what happens when you give Furaha a piece of chocolate cake.
  • Write an I.B.F.Fs version of Alexander & The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day about Luke having a bad day and finding reassurance in me.
  • Write a version of Loved You Forever about either Luke, Resus and Cleo reassuring me they'll love me forever, or Kiburi and Ua telling Furaha they'll always love her no matter what happens to her.

At Home Writing Challenge - I.B.F.Fs Storytime - 9 Fun Father & Baby Outing Ideas

These writing prompts are inspired by some fun father and daughter outings and will, this time, not focus on fathers and daughters spending time together, but rather me and my I.B.F.F friends!
  • Dog and Pug go to a local sporting event and, as if by accident, Pug gets dragged into the game. How does he help his favourite team win?
  • Luke, Resus, Cleo and I visit Uncle Stripe's house and play with Muffin and Socks in the pool.
  • Dog organizes a storytime session at the bookshop filled with songs and puppets, and talks directly to you, as if you were one of the children at the storytime session. Write from Dog's perspective as he talks to the reader and reads him/her a story.
  • Simon, Gaspard and their grandma and grandpa take me to the antique store to look at old treasures, and Simon and I play at being treasure hunters.
  • Luke, Resus, Cleo and I try out a day of sharing each others' hobbies.
  • I accompany Resus and Luella to a bird sanctuary, and the birds here make Resus depressed because as a vampire, he can't fly. Luella and I must comfort him and tell him vampires aren't like birds.
  • Bluey, Bingo and Bandit go grocery shopping, and, flashing back to when they played their game of 'Kids' there, Bandit prays another incident like this wouldn't happen....
  • I play in the park with Bluey and Chloe, and each of us has a go on the swing.

Inspired by this interview activity to do with your grandparents, try these writing prompts about Nana during her youth, before Bluey, Bingo and their cousins came into their life, inspired by the Bluey episode 'Grannies'. There's more to a grandperson than just flossing, you know!
  • Describe the day Nana was born. What did her parents decide to call her? Was there drama on the big day? What was the weather like?
  • Did Nana have any brothers or sisters? If so, what games did they play together? Did they go to school together?

  • What happens when Nana got into trouble? Was she sent to the naughty corner for five minutes?
  • Describe Nana's days at school via a diary entry from a normal day in her life. What was her favourite subject? What did they have to eat for school dinners each day? What games did she play in the playground? Did she have any friends?
  • What was Nana's favourite sport?
  • Write about Nana's childhood ambitions over what she wants to be when she grows up.
  • Write about what's special about Nana's childhood home that she might never forget. Was it family that makes it special, or what she is grateful for, or the precious times she and her relatives spend together?
  • What was Nana's favourite thing for dinner? Describe how Nana would come home to it delicious smell, and how it tasted every time.
  • What did Nana spend her pocket money on had she been given it for completing her chores?
  • What were the Summer holidays like in Nana's childhood home? Did she partake in a barbecue her family, or go to the beach, or something like that?
  • Write in the style of a diary entry about Nana's favourite childhood memory, one which she can tell to Bluey and her sisters and cousin today.
  • Write about Nana's first job, and how she got it.
  • Where did Nana meet Bluey's grandpa, Bob? Describe how they met, ala Bandit and Chili's origin story in 'The Show'.
  • Write a poem from Bob to Nana telling about what he loves about her.
  • Write about Bob and Nana's wedding day. How has the day been made really special?
  • Write about Bandit's childhood, or Chili's childhood. Did Chili go swimming with Grandad in the lake like it was explained in 'Grandad'? Describe Bandit's humor and how it used to win over a large crowd when he was in high school.
  • Write about the things Bandit and Chilli did with Grandad, Nana and Bob as a family. Did they go fishing together, or did they have a barbecue on the beach? Write down anything you want about what they did as a family.
  • Write about when Bluey was born. Was it a day Chili had been waiting for? Had she been longing for a child for quite sometime? What was the weather like? You can even write Bandit's reaction to Bluey's birth, but it's mainly Nana you should write about.
  • Write about what Nana wished she had known when she was Bluey's age.
  • Write a conversation between Nana and Bluey about the most important thing she needs to know about being a child inside. Make it as heartwarming and as lovely as possible.

  • Luke, Resus, Cleo, Coco, Indy, Honey and I play at being pirates in the park.
  • My siblings and I have a quiet morning in the park, feeding the ducks...but more and more people keep wanting to join us!
  • Luke, Resus, Cleo and I join Bluey and Bingo on a trip to the toy store to get something for Mackenzie's birthday, but someone is making the toys talk. With help of Alfie, we attempt to uncover the person behind the talking toys. Who might it be? Might it be Hover, up to her wisecracking ways yet again?

Check out this Huggies selection of wonderful illustrated books to read to your baby if you have a brother or sister, but sometimes reading them for far too long can leave you BORED TO DEATH!! Why not give these books an exceptionally fun Me, You, And... or I.B.F.Fs twist? That always works for me, I always like to change the stories of fairy tales like Goldilocks & The Three Bears all the time, and now I'm passing the craft onto you with these exceptionally good clean writing prompts.
  • Do a Bluey 'Baby Race'-inspired version of 'Ten Little Fingers & Ten Little Toes', as sung by Chilli to baby Bluey. How might other parents in Bluey's world sing the rhyme to their babies, be it with babies Coco, Snickers, Judo or maybe even Rusty or Mackenzie?
  • Write a poem based on Tana Hoban's Black On White, about how silhouettes cover the shadows of life and how we are glad to have life's shadow guiding us all the way through even the most difficult situations.
  • Write a version of Fuzzy Fuzzy Fuzzy about Furaha and her animal friends back in Africa.
  • Write a Me, You, And...version of 'Global Babies' told from Furaha and her brothers and sisters' perspective of all the children of the world they help heal, and no matter how different we are be it animal or human, we are all universal beings.

  • Write a Me, You, And Digimon Data Squad or I.B.F.Fs version of Peekaboo Bedtime about either Lanka and Agumon or Bingo and Gaspard getting ready for bed and discovering different bedtime rituals, all while preparing for bed with help of their peers themselves.
  • Write English versions of all the rhymes of Pio Peep: Traditional Spanish Nursery Rhymes. Maybe you could add a Disney character where the main character should be in one of the rhymes, or give a Me, You, And...take on one of the rhymes if it were about a brave lion.
  • Write an I.B.F.Fs version of 'Where Is Baby's Bellybutton?' about me giving Mr. Crudley a bath and trying to do the disgusting job of cleaning out his bellybutton.
  • Write a vibrant poem based on Color Zoo about what shapes need to be made to create the animals that dwell in our beautiful world.
  • Write an I.B.F.Fs version of 'Baby Animal Farm' about me, Bluey, Chloe, Mackenzie, Honey and Bingo heading off to visit the farm near where Simon's grandma and grandpa live and look at all the animals there. Add your own silly little quotes to us, or make up your own funky movements and put them into the story, so we could be dancing all the way!
